Being a steward of the environment has been a key driving force for me since my first year in college.  Designing buildings to be highly energy efficient and utilize renewable energy was the primary focus of my master’s degree and I have been recognized as a subject matter expert in these areas throughout my engineering career.  The diversity, market type and geographic location of the projects I have worked on have prepared me for the challenges associated creating decentralized ‘Circular-Sustainable’ communities. The Sustainable Development Fund represents an outstanding opportunity for me to use my talent, love of people and God’s creation and improve the quality of life and the environment for future generations.

My entire career in Architecture and Engineering design and construction has been focused on creating a built environment that reduces its carbon footprint. My passion has always been to the earth and supporting sustainability and the natural world. The SDF provides me with an opportunity focus these passions on helping create sustainable communities. By developing communities centered on faith, family, health, education, prosperity and sustainability; the world will be a better place. All while sharing my love of earth friendly design (active and passive solar for utility power reduction, using sustainable materials which last and do not pollute our environment, teaching occupants to conserve water and manage their waste in a way which enriches the earth and develop market opportunities for residents to recycle their waste into art and kitchen wares which can be sold for a profit.

My support of SDF will allow me to work with people, share God’s love and share my knowledge to make a difference in other’s lives.

Melissa has a diverse background that allows her to provide significant contributions to SDF mission and projects. Her work experience as a controller, science teacher and entrepreneur have been a exceptional gift to SDF and helped to craft our mission and focus.

Through SDF, I can actively work to help others thrive. Our communities create a space where basic needs can be met and where hope can be nurtured. By helping individuals improve the quality of their own existence, we improve the quality of life for the family, which radiates out to the community and beyond, and the world wins. At SDF, I am passionate about identifying new partners and new communities where our Circular-Sustainable Communities can be the cornerstone of hope.

Biblically, when the first man (Adam) was created, he was put in the garden of Eden to nurture the garden. This gives me God's perspective about Sustainable living. As a trained Cad-Draughtsman, helping to create sustainable and clean environmentally friendly designs is my passion and as a missionary Pastor in Africa, I continuously hold seminars and workshops that empowers community thereby helping them to be intentional about maintaining climate friendly habits. Through Sustainable Development Fund I am able to actualize this dream.
